Current Status
Mount Everest expeditions in Nepal are now fully underway, with teams established at Base Camp and early-stage movement on the route.
Most international expeditions have arrived and completed base camp setup, including communication systems, medical tents, and logistics infrastructure. Climbers are currently preparing for their first full acclimatization rotations.

Route Progress
The route through the Khumbu Icefall is now open and being maintained by specialized fixing teams.
- Icefall Doctors have installed ladders and ropes through the lower section
- Initial crossings by climbers have started
- Load ferry operations toward Camp 1 are ongoing
Higher sections of the route toward Camp 2 and above are still in preparation.
Acclimatization Activity
Climbers have begun early rotations through the Khumbu Icefall:
- Movement from Base Camp to Camp 1 has started
- Some teams are progressing toward Camp 2 in the Western Cwm
- Most climbers are still in their first rotation phase
This stage is focused on gradual altitude adaptation rather than speed.
Weather and Conditions
Conditions on Everest are currently typical for early season:
- Cold but relatively stable mornings
- Increasing cloud buildup in afternoons
- Icefall remains active with shifting seracs

No major weather disruptions have been reported so far, but conditions remain dynamic, especially in the Icefall.

- No climbers have reached higher camps consistently above Camp 2

Outlook
The Everest expedition is progressing on schedule for the Spring season. The next phase will involve:
- Continued rotations to Camp 2 and Camp 3
- Further route fixing toward the South Col
- Monitoring weather patterns for summit planning
The primary summit window is expected in mid to late May 2026, depending on weather stability.
