Route Progress

The route through the Khumbu Icefall is now open and being maintained by specialized fixing teams.

  • Icefall Doctors have installed ladders and ropes through the lower section
  • Initial crossings by climbers have started
  • Load ferry operations toward Camp 1 are ongoing

Higher sections of the route toward Camp 2 and above are still in preparation.

Acclimatization Activity

Climbers have begun early rotations through the Khumbu Icefall:

  • Movement from Base Camp to Camp 1 has started
  • Some teams are progressing toward Camp 2 in the Western Cwm
  • Most climbers are still in their first rotation phase

This stage is focused on gradual altitude adaptation rather than speed.

Weather and Conditions

Conditions on Everest are currently typical for early season:

  • Cold but relatively stable mornings
  • Increasing cloud buildup in afternoons
